Obituary for Cole Evans

Cole Evans was born in Greenwood, South Carolina. He spent
five years in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the 97th
bomb wing. He was a letter carrier for the U.S.. Postal Service
for 37 1/2 years. He served as Vice President of local letter carrier
union for eight years and State Treasurer of letter carriers
union for four years. He was an Assistant Scout Master of Troop
61 Boy Scouts of America, 1982-1992. He served as District
Commissioner in charge of training Scout Leaders, 1992-1995.
He was a member of the Bartlett Senior Citizens Golf Club and
the Treasurer of Ole Bartlett Village homeowners association,
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Evans; son, Elliot (Niki)
Evans; grandchildren, Emma, Eliza and Lucas; sisters, Henrietta
Shay and family of South Carolina and Helen (John) Aycock and
family of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by their
son, Christopher.
